For years, nonsurgical treatments such as dermal fillers and injectables were popular among people looking for subtle facial changes without surgery.

Some women now say they are moving in the opposite direction, choosing procedures that create longer-lasting changes rather than repeatedly adding volume with fillers.

Plastic surgeons have also noted growing interest in facial rejuvenation procedures, including facelifts, deep-plane techniques, neck lifts, brow lifts and eyelid surgery.

That openness has also helped normalize conversations about procedures that were once kept private. At the same time, experts caution that social media can create unrealistic expectations because photos and videos may not show the full recovery process, risks or individual differences.

Why Are Younger Women Considering Facelifts?

There isn't one reason. Facial structure, genetics, changes in weight, skin laxity and individual aesthetic goals can all influence someone's decision.

Experts emphasize that age alone should not determine whether someone is a candidate for a facelift. A person's anatomy, overall health, expectations and reasons for wanting the procedure are important considerations.

Some younger patients may also be seeking a more natural-looking result after becoming dissatisfied with repeated filler treatments.

The Trend Toward a More Natural Look
