An Alabama mother shopping for children's clothes says she had a disturbing encounter inside a store when she felt something brush against her leg.

According to Allison Hoch, she quickly realized that a man was allegedly attempting to film up her skirt. Instead of ignoring the encounter, Hoch decided to turn the situation around—and began recording the man herself.

Mom Captures Suspect on Video

Hoch told Inside Edition's Alison Hall that she became suspicious after feeling something against her leg while shopping.

She says she realized the man was allegedly trying to record underneath her clothing and immediately began documenting what was happening.

By turning her phone toward the suspect, Hoch was able to capture video that she could provide to police.

She Called 911

After recording the alleged encounter, Hoch called 911 and remained in contact with authorities.

She was reportedly able to provide police with information that helped officers determine where the suspect was located.

Police then tracked the man to a nearby restaurant.

Suspect Arrested

Authorities arrested the suspect a short time later at the restaurant.

The incident serves as a reminder of how quickly an ordinary shopping trip can turn into a frightening situation—and how documenting suspicious behavior can potentially help investigators.
