Presley Gerber, Cindy Crawford's Son and Brother to Kaia, Dead at 27
Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber and the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber, has died at 27.
Gerber died Sunday, Sept. 20, at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. His death was also confirmed by a representative for his family, who asked for privacy during what they described as an “extremely difficult and painful time.”
The cause of death has not been released. An autopsy was still pending as of the latest reports.
A Young Model Following in His Mother's Footsteps
Born in California in 1999, Presley was the only son of Crawford and Rande Gerber, who married in 1998.
Like his mother and younger sister, Presley pursued a career in modeling. He signed with IMG Models as a teenager and made his runway debut at 16. He later worked with major fashion brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.
In 2018, Presley appeared alongside his mother in a recreation of Crawford's iconic 1992 Pepsi commercial during Super Bowl LII.
His Struggles Were Increasingly Public
In recent years, Presley had spoken openly about struggles with mental health and substance use.
He launched a social media series called “Mental Health Mondays,” saying he wanted to encourage honest conversations about issues people often keep hidden.
In December 2025, he also spoke publicly about his difficulties with addiction and mental health. His family had supported him as he sought treatment.
Earlier this year, Presley shared an Instagram post documenting an ibogaine treatment at a wellness facility in Cancún, Mexico. In the post, he described confronting painful experiences and expressed hope that the treatment would mark a turning point in his recovery.
Kaia Gerber Spoke About Her Brother
Presley's death comes shortly after Kaia discussed her brother's struggles in an interview with Vogue.
Kaia, who has also built a successful career as a model and actress, spoke about how addiction and mental health challenges affected their entire family. She also expressed pride in her brother for being willing to speak publicly about what he was experiencing.
Her comments offered a glimpse into the family's efforts to support Presley while respecting his own journey.
A Family Asking for Privacy
As news of Presley's death spread, his family asked the public and media to give them space to grieve.
Crawford and Rande Gerber have not publicly released additional details about their son's death. The medical examiner has not yet determined or announced a cause.
For now, Presley is being remembered not only as the son of one of fashion's most recognizable figures, but as a model who built a career of his own and a young man who increasingly used his platform to speak openly about mental health and recovery.
