Chaos On Southwest Flight As Woman Strips, Screams At Passengers

A Southwest Airlines flight from Houston to Phoenix was forced to return to the gate after a passenger suddenly stripped off her clothes and began screaming as the plane was taxiing for takeoff.

The bizarre incident happened aboard Southwest Flight 733 at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston in March 2025. Video recorded by a passenger shows the woman moving through the cabin while other travelers watched in shock.

The footage has resurfaced online, bringing renewed attention to the unusual disruption.

The Situation Escalated Quickly

According to passengers who spoke with local media, the woman initially approached the front of the aircraft while still fully dressed and began yelling that she wanted to get off the plane.

As the aircraft continued taxiing, her behavior became increasingly disruptive. She removed her clothing, walked through the cabin and continued shouting at passengers and crew.

One passenger told reporters that the situation was frightening and particularly uncomfortable because children were among those onboard.

Reports also said the woman banged on the cockpit door and asked to be allowed inside the cockpit.

Pilots Turned the Plane Around

With the situation escalating before takeoff, the pilots made the decision to abandon the departure and taxi the Boeing 737 back to the gate.

The flight was scheduled to travel from Houston to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Once the aircraft returned to the terminal, Houston police officers met the plane and removed the passenger.

Southwest confirmed that law enforcement responded to what it described as a customer situation onboard and apologized to passengers for the resulting delay.

Woman Taken for Medical Evaluation

Houston police said they received a call at approximately 3:30 p.m. reporting that a passenger had removed her clothes and was causing a disturbance.

Officers took the woman from the aircraft and transported her to the NeuroPsychiatric Center at Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital for a medical evaluation. Police said at the time that no charges had been filed.

Authorities did not publicly release her name.

Flight Eventually Continued to Phoenix

The incident caused the flight to be delayed for more than an hour.

After the passenger was removed and the situation was brought under control, the aircraft was cleared to continue its journey to Phoenix. Reports said the flight eventually departed at about 4:32 p.m., more than an hour after its scheduled departure time.

Southwest apologized to the passengers who experienced the disruption.

A Troubling Scene Caught on Camera

The passenger's behavior was captured on cellphone video, showing the chaotic moments inside the aircraft as travelers remained seated while she moved through the cabin.

The footage has since circulated again online, giving viewers a firsthand look at how quickly an unusual passenger disturbance can disrupt an entire flight — even before an aircraft leaves the ground.

For the passengers aboard Flight 733, what was supposed to be a routine trip from Houston to Phoenix instead became an unsettling delay they were unlikely to forget.
