Lindsay Lohan Celebrates ‘The Parent Trap’ Twins’ Birthday by Recreating Iconic Movie Scene

It's October 11, and Lindsay Lohan is bringing back some serious ’90s nostalgia! The actress delighted fans by stepping back into the roles that helped make her a household name, celebrating the fictional twins Annie James and Hallie Parker from Disney's beloved 1998 film The Parent Trap.

Lohan marked the occasion with a playful video shared on social media, transforming into both characters to wish them a happy birthday. The celebration is especially meaningful for longtime fans because October 11 is the twins' shared birthday in the movie—and this year, the characters officially turn 40!

Lindsay Reunites With Annie and Hallie

In the adorable clip, Lohan switches between her two iconic characters, recreating their familiar accents and personalities.

First, she appears as Annie James, wearing a light yellow sweater and speaking in her character's signature British accent.

“Hi Hallie. Happy birthday. You know it's October 11?” she says.

The video then cuts to Lohan as Hallie Parker, sporting a gray sweatshirt and her familiar American accent.

“Annie, you're so funny, of course I know it's October 11. Happy birthday, sis,” she replies.

Lohan captioned the video, “Happy Birthday Hallie & Annie!,” while “There She Goes” by The La's—the song featured on the film's soundtrack—plays in the background.

The sweet throwback quickly brought fans back to the days of summer camp, secret twin swaps, and the unforgettable discovery that two girls who couldn't be more different were actually sisters.

A Role That Still Means So Much to Fans

Released in 1998, The Parent Trap starred Lohan as both Annie and Hallie, identical twins separated when their parents divorced. Annie grew up in London with her mother, Elizabeth James, played by Natasha Richardson, while Hallie was raised in California by their father, Nick Parker, played by Dennis Quaid.

The girls meet at summer camp, initially clash, and eventually discover they are twins. They then hatch a plan to switch places and reunite their parents.

Lohan was just 11 years old when she played both characters, delivering a memorable dual performance that helped launch her career. Nearly three decades later, the movie remains a favorite for audiences who grew up watching it.

The birthday tribute also caught the attention of Elaine Hendrix, who portrayed Meredith Blake in the film. Hendrix joined the celebration in the comments, adding birthday wishes for the fictional twins.

October Is Turning Into a Nostalgic Month for Lindsay

The Parent Trap celebration comes just days after Lohan delighted fans with another throwback to one of her most famous roles.

On October 3, the actress joined in the annual celebration of Mean Girls Day, inspired by the memorable moment when Aaron Samuels asks Cady Heron what day it is. Cady's iconic answer—“It's October 3rd”—has become a pop-culture tradition.

With two beloved movie moments celebrated in the same month, fans are having plenty of reasons to revisit Lohan's most iconic characters.

From Cady Heron to Annie and Hallie, the actress continues to embrace the roles that shaped a generation of movie lovers.

And while fans may be hoping for another Parent Trap reunion on the big screen, this birthday video is already a sweet reminder that some movie magic never gets old.
