Kevin Durant's company buys former 515-acre Six Flags America site in Maryland

Kevin Durant’s investment firm, 35V, is part of the group that bought the former 515-acre Six Flags America site in Bowie, Maryland. Prince George’s County officials said the property will be redeveloped into an entertainment and mixed-use destination rather than remain an amusement park.

What was announced

County Executive Aisha Braveboy said Durant’s 35V and Atlanta-based TPA Group were selected to take over the site, which sits about 20 miles outside Washington, D.C.. The sale closes the chapter on a park that operated for 50 years before shutting down after the 2025 season.

Why it matters

The project is expected to bring new economic development to Prince George’s County and reimagine a major piece of land in Durant’s home region. Officials said the plan is focused on creating a destination development that better fits what residents want from the property.
