Kelly Osbourne Makes Red Carpet Return After Addressing 'Scary' Weight Loss
The 41-year-old arrived at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday, September 8, wearing a dramatic blue-and-brown tartan off-the-shoulder gown by Vivienne Westwood. She completed the look with layered gold necklaces, drop earrings, slicked-back blonde hair and blue-toned eye makeup.
A Return to the Spotlight
Kelly attended the awards ceremony in support of the BBC documentary Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, which chronicled the Osbourne family over three years leading up to Ozzy’s death in July 2025.
The documentary was nominated for an Authored Documentary award but ultimately did not win. Kelly said she has not been able to watch the film herself because revisiting her father’s final years remains too painful.
Speaking to reporters on the red carpet, Kelly reflected on what it has been like to grieve her father while facing public scrutiny.
‘It’s Hard to Grieve in Front of the World’
Kelly recently revealed that her grief following Ozzy’s death was accompanied by dramatic weight loss that she did not fully recognize at the time.
In an interview published earlier this month, she said she was shocked when she saw a photograph taken during preparations for the 2026 Grammy Awards. She described herself as looking extremely frail and said she had not realized how much her appearance had changed because she was overwhelmed by emotional pain.
She also revealed that she used wigs and carefully selected clothing to conceal how thin her face and body had become during the Grammys, where she attended with her family for a tribute to Ozzy.
Kelly later acknowledged that she may not have been well enough to attend the event but wanted to support her mother, Sharon Osbourne, and honor her father’s legacy.
Grieving Under Public Scrutiny
At the National Television Awards, Kelly spoke about the additional difficulty of experiencing such an intense loss while being watched and judged by the public.
“It’s hard to grieve anyone,” she said, explaining that having to go through that process in front of the world made it even more difficult.
She also expressed gratitude toward the people who defended her and supported her during a period when she was struggling.
Kelly has previously described the past year as the hardest of her life and said that losing her father fundamentally changed her.
Remembering Ozzy
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at age 76. The Black Sabbath frontman and solo rock icon had faced significant health challenges in the years before his death.
His final years were documented for Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, giving viewers an intimate look at the family during a difficult period.
For Kelly, however, watching those memories on screen remains too painful.
She described the documentary as both devastating and beautiful, but said she simply isn't ready to revisit it.
Taking Recovery One Day at a Time
Kelly has continued to speak openly about her grief and mental health as she works through the loss.
She is also developing a three-part documentary project focused on her experience with grief and the process of healing. Rather than presenting recovery as something that happens quickly, Kelly has emphasized that it is an ongoing journey.
Her appearance at the National Television Awards offered a glimpse of that journey: a return to the public eye while still acknowledging that she is processing an enormous loss.
For Kelly, stepping onto the red carpet wasn't simply about fashion. It was another moment in learning how to move forward while carrying the memory of her father with her.
