Gypsy Rose Blanchard Addresses Relationship With Ken Urker’s Sister | E! News
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is speaking out about her strained relationship with Autumn Snyder, the sister of her late partner, Ken Urker, following his death on October 1.
In an emotional Instagram video posted October 13, Blanchard accused Snyder of publicly criticizing both her and Urker in the months leading up to his death. She also questioned Snyder’s actions since the loss, alleging that she was using the tragedy for financial gain.
“I’m grieving and the people that actually loved him are grieving,” Blanchard said in the video, according to E! News. She added that she, Urker’s mother and others close to him had not made money from his death, before directing criticism toward Snyder.
Blanchard, 35, shares a daughter, Aurora, with Urker, who was 34 when he died.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Claims Tension With Ken Urker’s Sister
During the video, Blanchard alleged that Snyder had not supported her relationship with Urker and had criticized them publicly over the previous six months.
“She’s never approved of our relationship,” Blanchard said, adding that she had tried to remain quiet and make peace with Snyder but believed those efforts had failed.
Blanchard also criticized Snyder for speaking to media outlets after her brother’s death. She argued that being a family member does not automatically mean someone knows every detail of a person’s private life or relationship.
In the caption accompanying her video, Blanchard said she intended to protect Urker’s memory and remember him for the love he gave to those closest to him.
E! News reported that it had reached out to Snyder for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
Blanchard Recalls Her Final Conversation With Urker
Blanchard also shared details about one of her final phone conversations with Urker. She recalled that she was preparing to move into a new apartment when he expressed concern for her safety.
According to Blanchard, Urker warned her to be careful because of the online harassment surrounding their lives. She further alleged that he told her Snyder had threatened to intensify her public criticism of him.
Blanchard said the situation was especially painful because she believed Urker had been dealing with public scrutiny and conflict involving people close to him.
Snyder, however, has offered her own account of the situation. In an interview published October 8, she said Urker had faced online death threats and doxxing and claimed he slept with a gun nearby for protection. The competing accounts have added to the public tension surrounding the family’s loss.
What Happened to Ken Urker?
Urker was found dead at his Louisiana home on October 1, his 34th birthday. Blanchard previously said she believed he died following an overdose, but his official cause of death had not been determined pending toxicology results, according to E! News.
Blanchard has spoken publicly about her grief and the impact of his death on their young daughter. She has also called for greater accountability around online harassment and has advocated for protecting Urker’s memory.
Despite the dispute with Snyder, Blanchard has said she wants Urker to be remembered for the person he was, his role as a father and the love he shared with those closest to him.
As the family continues to grieve, the public disagreement highlights the deeply personal tensions that can emerge after a loss—especially when private relationships become the subject of online discussion and media attention.
