Ciara Wants to Bring People Together and Spark Important Conversations About Health
Ahead of her performance in Las Vegas, Ciara spoke with ET about her partnership with Gilead Sciences, which is focused on bringing greater attention to sexual health and HIV prevention.
For Ciara, the goal is to make conversations around health feel more accessible, open and connected to everyday life.
Bringing Health Into a Cultural Moment
Ciara performed at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena on Sept. 19, joining a star-studded lineup that included BTS, Cardi B, Snoop Dogg, Benson Boone, Lainey Wilson and The Smashing Pumpkins.
But her involvement went beyond the stage.
Through her work with Gilead, Ciara is helping use a major cultural event as an opportunity to encourage people to learn more about HIV prevention and take greater ownership of their sexual health.
The partnership comes at a time when conversations about prevention and access remain important, particularly as organizations continue working to make accurate health information easier for communities to find and understand.
Making Conversations Feel Less Complicated
Ciara has long used music, fashion and entertainment to connect with audiences, and she sees that same connection as an opportunity to encourage meaningful conversations.
Rather than approaching health as something distant or uncomfortable, the singer is helping bring the subject into spaces where people already gather, listen and engage.
That can mean talking openly about prevention, asking questions and making informed decisions about one's health.
A Message That Goes Beyond the Stage
Ciara's festival appearance also came during a major personal moment.
The singer is currently expecting her fifth child and performed while pregnant, bringing the same high-energy choreography fans have come to expect from her performances. At the festival, she joked about keeping the energy up while her baby was “bouncin' around.”
Her performance featured hits spanning her career, including “Goodies,” “1, 2 Step,” “Get Up” and “Level Up,” showing that pregnancy had not slowed her down onstage.
Using Influence to Start a Conversation
For Ciara, the partnership with Gilead represents another way to connect with people beyond music.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival attracts a massive audience, making it a natural setting to put important conversations in front of people who may not otherwise seek out information about sexual health or HIV prevention.
By bringing those discussions into a major entertainment moment, Ciara is encouraging fans to see health conversations as something worth having — openly, responsibly and without stigma.
Ciara's Bigger Purpose
Whether she's performing for thousands of fans or speaking about issues that affect communities, Ciara continues to look for ways to use her visibility for more than entertainment.
Her latest partnership puts that philosophy into action, combining music, culture and health education in an effort to get people talking.
And for Ciara, starting the conversation may be one of the most important performances of all.
