Why Kelly Osbourne Moved Back to the U.K. With Son Sidney

Kelly Osbourne is finding a sense of peace after a difficult year, and for the television personality, that meant returning to where she grew up.

The 41-year-old has moved from Los Angeles back to the United Kingdom with her 3-year-old son, Sidney, following the end of her engagement to Slipknot musician Sid Wilson and the death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, in July 2025.

In an interview with HELLO! magazine published Aug. 31, Osbourne opened up about what the move has meant for her and her young son.

“Being home in the U.K. has changed a lot for me,” she said. “I’ve never been a California girl. It’s been great to be home, and making a life for me and my son where I can see he’s truly happy.”

Why Kelly Chose the U.K.

Osbourne spent nearly three decades living in California, but she said returning to the U.K. has given her a renewed sense of comfort and stability.

One of the biggest factors was her desire to provide a safer environment for Sidney. She has expressed concern about gun violence in the United States, particularly when it comes to children and schools.

The move has also brought a meaningful connection to her own childhood. Sidney is attending the same preschool in Buckinghamshire that Kelly attended when she was young, giving the mother-and-son transition an unexpected connection to her past.

For Osbourne, it's less about leaving Los Angeles behind and more about creating a new chapter for herself and her son.

Life After Sid Wilson

The move comes months after Osbourne and Wilson ended their engagement.

The couple began dating in 2022 and welcomed Sidney later that year. Wilson proposed in July 2025 backstage at Ozzy Osbourne's final Black Sabbath performance, but their engagement ended in March 2026.

The breakup, combined with the loss of her father, made the past year particularly difficult for Osbourne. Her brother, Jack Osbourne, recently said his sister is now in a happier place and is concentrating on herself and her son while enjoying a quieter life in the countryside.

Keeping Ozzy Close

Returning home has also given Kelly a chance to remain close to her family and preserve her father's memory for Sidney.

Ozzy died in July 2025 at age 76. Kelly has spoken openly about how deeply his death affected her, and she recently revealed that Sidney still talks about his grandfather every day.

She described her son as carrying some of Ozzy's personality, including his smile and mannerisms, making the connection especially meaningful as the family continues to grieve.

“Life Is So Precious”

With so much change behind her, Osbourne says she is trying to focus on the moments that matter most.

“Time is the most important thing we have,” she reflected. “Life is so precious.”

For now, that perspective appears to be shaping her new life in the U.K. Rather than rushing into what comes next, Osbourne is embracing motherhood, her family and the opportunity to build a happier, more grounded life for herself and Sidney.

After a year marked by heartbreak and major change, her return home may be exactly the fresh start she needed.
