Ring Camera Video Shows Delivery Worker Allegedly Hitting Cat With Package in Virginia Beach

A delivery worker was captured on a home security camera appearing to strike a cat with a package on a front porch in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Sunday afternoon.

The incident, recorded by a Ring camera, shows the worker throwing a package toward a 21-pound cat sitting outside the home. The footage has raised concerns about the treatment of animals and the responsibility delivery workers have when approaching customers’ homes.

Security Camera Captures the Incident

According to reports, the cat was sitting on the front porch when the delivery worker approached the property. Ring camera footage reportedly captured the worker throwing a package at the animal.

The video has drawn attention because the cat was simply sitting on the porch when the encounter occurred.

Home security cameras can provide important records of incidents on private property, including interactions involving delivery personnel. In this case, the footage has become central to reports about what happened.

Concerns About Animal Treatment

The incident has prompted questions about why the package was thrown toward the cat and whether the animal suffered any injuries.

Cats may remain near doorways or porches out of curiosity or because those areas are familiar to them. Delivery workers regularly encounter pets while completing their routes, making it important to handle packages carefully and avoid actions that could put animals at risk.

The available information does not establish the worker's motive or confirm whether the cat was injured.

What Happens Next?

The delivery company's response, the worker's identity and any potential disciplinary action were not included in the initial report.

It is also unclear whether an animal welfare complaint or formal investigation has been initiated.

The footage serves as a reminder that interactions with animals should be handled with care, even during routine deliveries. As more details emerge, the circumstances surrounding the incident may become clearer.
