Theo James REACTS to Meghan Markle 'The Gentlemen' Casting Rumors

Theo James is having a little fun with the growing speculation that Meghan Markle could be joining Netflix’s hit crime series The Gentlemen.

The actor, who stars as Eddie Horniman, addressed the casting buzz surrounding the show's potential third season and appeared to pour cold water on reports that the Duchess of Sussex could take on a role.

James reportedly described the speculation as “hot air,” making it clear that there is currently no confirmed casting announcement involving Meghan.

And rather than taking the rumor too seriously, James offered his own tongue-in-cheek suggestion for Eddie's next love interest — joking that Prince Harry could take the role.

Meghan Markle Rumors Have Been Building

Speculation surrounding Meghan's possible return to acting intensified after reports suggested she had been considering a major acting comeback.

The rumors gained even more attention after Meghan and Harry relocated back to the U.K. Reports have linked her potential return to the entertainment industry with The Gentlemen, which is created by Guy Ritchie and produced for Netflix.

However, no official casting deal for Meghan has been announced.

Netflix has confirmed that The Gentlemen will return for a third season, but details about the storyline and cast are still being developed.

Season 2 Is the Real Focus Right Now

For James, the immediate priority isn't Meghan's potential involvement — it's the newly released second season.

All eight episodes of Season 2 are now streaming on Netflix. The new chapter picks up after Eddie and Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario, have expanded their criminal operation beyond England and into Italy.

This season sees Eddie becoming increasingly comfortable with his dual identity as an aristocrat and criminal power player, while his ambitions begin creating new dangers for himself and those around him.

The new season also introduces several new characters, including Hugh Bonneville, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone and Maya Jama.

Season 3 Is Coming

While Meghan's involvement remains speculation, fans do have one thing they can count on: Season 3 is officially happening.

Netflix confirmed the renewal ahead of Season 2, with creator Guy Ritchie teasing an even bigger world for the series. The show's creators have suggested that future seasons could continue expanding internationally.

That leaves plenty of room for new characters — and plenty of room for casting rumors to keep circulating.

For now, though, James seems more interested in letting fans enjoy the season that is actually here.

And if his joking Harry casting is any indication, he certainly isn't taking the Meghan speculation too seriously.
