Stephen Colbert REACTS to His Late Show Replacement and REVEALS Post-Show Plans

Late-night host Stephen Colbert is speaking out about CBS’s decision to replace The Late Show with a new program after his departure—and he’s also giving fans a glimpse into what comes next for him once the show ends.

The long-running CBS series is set to wrap on May 21, 2026, marking the end of an era for the iconic late-night franchise.

His reaction to being replaced

CBS has confirmed that Colbert’s time slot will be taken over by Byron Allen’s Comics Unleashed, starting immediately after his final episode.

Colbert’s response has been notably calm and low-drama. In recent comments, he made it clear he is not focused on the replacement decision, saying it is “none of my business” and declining to weigh in on whether the new show format is better or worse.

Earlier, he also emphasized that the end of the program is not about being replaced, but rather the franchise itself coming to a close.
