How it works
PlantGPT collects real-time plant health data through sensors in the soil. The system then processes that information and converts it into simple, conversational language through text-to-speech, so a user can hear what the plant “needs”.
Why students built it
The students said the idea came from wondering whether a plant would thrive better if it had its own voice and agency. They also wanted to make plant care easier for beginners and eventually expand the idea for local farms and larger plant groups.
Why it stands out
The project has gotten attention because it mixes AI, biotech, and a very relatable problem: people wanting help keeping plants alive. It’s still being developed, but the team hopes to make it more affordable and accessible in the future.
