Selena Gomez SUED for $1.2M: Mom’s Alleged Drug Abuse, Bad Behavior at Center of Legal Fight

Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, are facing a $1.2 million lawsuit from investors in their mental-health company, Wondermind.

The investors allege that they were misled into continuing to invest money in the company despite problems with its finances and operations.

What the investors allege

According to the lawsuit obtained by ET, investors claim Gomez, Teefey and their former business partner made false representations about Wondermind's infrastructure and financial condition in order to secure additional investment.

The plaintiffs are seeking $1.2 million in damages.

Claims involving Selena's mother

The lawsuit also contains personal allegations about Teefey, including claims that she struggled with drug abuse and that the alleged problem contributed to tension between her and Gomez.

Those allegations are claims made by the plaintiffs and have not been established as fact.

Investors question Selena's involvement

The investors also allege that Gomez had little to no involvement in Wondermind, despite publicly discussing her connection to the company.

They claim the perception of Gomez's involvement helped encourage continued investment.

A company built around mental health

Wondermind was launched as a mental-health-focused media and content company, with Gomez and Teefey presenting it as a platform intended to make conversations about mental wellness more accessible.

The lawsuit now puts the company's business practices and leadership under scrutiny.

Selena and Mandy have not responded publicly

ET reported that it reached out to Selena Gomez and Mandy Teefey for comment regarding the allegations.

At this point, the lawsuit represents the investors' claims, and there has been no court finding that Gomez or Teefey committed fraud or wrongdoing.

Bottom line

Selena Gomez and Mandy Teefey are facing a $1.2 million legal battle over Wondermind, with investors alleging they were misled about the company's condition and involvement in its operations. The case also includes deeply personal allegations about Teefey and her relationship with Gomez, but those claims remain unproven allegations in an ongoing legal dispute.
