Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are officially ending their nearly three-decade marriage.

The Full House actress filed for divorce from the fashion designer on September 4, 2026, in Los Angeles Superior Court, nearly one year after the couple's separation became public. Court documents cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and list their date of separation as August 31, 2025.

A Marriage That Lasted Nearly 30 Years

Loughlin, 62, and Giannulli, 63, married on November 27, 1997, after meeting in Los Angeles. They share two adult daughters, Isabella “Bella” Rose Giannulli, 27, and Olivia Jade Giannulli, 26.

The couple had been together for nearly 28 years when they separated in 2025. At the time, Loughlin's representative confirmed that the pair were “living apart and taking a break from their marriage,” while also saying there were no legal proceedings underway.

Now, the separation has formally moved into divorce proceedings.

What the Divorce Filing Says

According to the court documents, Loughlin and Giannulli signed a prenuptial agreement shortly before their wedding in 1997 and amended it in 2015.

Loughlin is asking that their assets and debts be divided according to the terms of those agreements. The filing also leaves the issue of spousal support to be determined at a later time and requests that attorney fees and other legal costs be addressed in the case.

Neither Loughlin nor Giannulli has publicly commented on the filing.

Their Separation Came After Years of Public Scrutiny

The end of their marriage comes years after the couple became two of the most recognizable figures involved in the nationwide college admissions scandal.

In 2019, federal prosecutors accused Loughlin and Giannulli of paying $500,000 to help get their daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as athletic recruits, despite neither daughter having participated in crew.

Both ultimately pleaded guilty in 2020.

Loughlin was sentenced to two months in federal prison, while Giannulli received a five-month sentence. Both also faced fines, supervised release and community service.

The scandal became a defining chapter in the couple's public life and was followed by years of intense media attention.

They Had Already Begun Separating Their Lives

The couple's separation became public in October 2025, but signs that they were moving in different directions had appeared earlier.

Months before their split was confirmed, Loughlin and Giannulli's Hidden Hills, California, home was put on the market. The couple had purchased the property in 2020, the same year they were sentenced in connection with the college admissions case. The home was later sold for approximately $12.65 million, according to reports.

Their daughters have also remained in the public eye. Olivia Jade has built a career as a social media personality and has appeared on television, while Bella has pursued acting and fashion.

Loughlin Appears Ready for a New Chapter

The divorce filing comes as Loughlin has begun stepping back into the spotlight.

After staying largely off social media for years, she returned to Instagram in August 2026, sharing glimpses of her life with family and friends, including a reunion with her former Full House co-stars.

She has also continued rebuilding her acting career, with new television projects and appearances keeping her professionally active.

For now, Loughlin and Giannulli's nearly 30-year marriage is entering its final legal chapter.

What began as a Hollywood love story in the late 1990s survived decades of fame, family life and one of the biggest scandals in American college admissions. After a year of living separately, the couple is now formally moving toward separate lives.
