North took the stage Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Vic Theatre in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood for a sold-out performance. The concert marked another major step in the teenager's growing music career following the release of her debut EP, N0rth4evr, earlier this year.

While her famous parents were both in the building, they kept their distance throughout the show.

Kim and Kanye Watch From Opposite Sides

Fan-captured videos showed Kardashian and West watching their daughter from separate sections of the theater.

Kardashian, 45, watched from a VIP area with friends and shared several clips of the enthusiastic crowd on her Instagram Stories. West, 49, was seen on the opposite side of the venue, recording North's performance on his phone and watching alongside members of his team.

Despite their separation, both appeared focused on the same thing: supporting their daughter during one of the biggest moments of her young career.

The former couple finalized their divorce in 2022 after nearly eight years of marriage. They also share three other children: Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.

North Performs Her Own Music

North's set featured songs from her debut EP, N0rth4evr, along with reportedly unreleased material.

The six-track project was released in May and marked North's transition from occasional appearances alongside her father to developing her own identity as an artist.

Earlier this year, she performed at Rolling Loud in Orlando and appeared alongside Kanye at his Los Angeles concert, where the father-daughter duo performed their songs “Talking” and “Piercing on My Hand.”

The Chicago show was particularly significant because it was North's first time headlining a concert on her own.

A Big Moment After a Canceled Tour

North's solo Chicago performance came after her planned Kimokawaii Tour with rapper Molly Santana was canceled in August.

The tour was supposed to mark North's first major headlining run, making Saturday's sold-out Chicago show an especially meaningful opportunity for the young performer.

North appeared to embrace the moment, thanking fans afterward and describing the experience as what she feels she is meant to do.

Her Parents Continue to Support Her Music

Although Kardashian and West have maintained separate lives since their divorce, they have continued to navigate parenting and support their children's interests.

Kardashian previously explained that North's musical interests have also become an important connection between the teenager and her father. She has said that she and West communicate about North's opportunities in music and that respecting his perspective as her father is important to her.

For North, having both parents in the audience made her Chicago debut an even bigger milestone.

And while Kim and Kanye may have watched from opposite ends of the venue, they were there for the same reason — to watch their daughter take center stage.
