Kentucky Powerball winner arrested for third time since winning jackpot

Kentucky Powerball winner James Farthing has been arrested for a third time since winning the $167.3 million jackpot last April. This latest arrest involved allegations that he burglarized a home in Lexington and possessed marijuana.

What happened

Reports say police believed Farthing unlawfully entered a residence and stole about $12,000 in cash before later being found at a gaming facility. He was booked on second-degree burglary and marijuana possession charges.

His prior arrests

This was already his third arrest since the jackpot win, following earlier run-ins that included an intimidation allegation in Kentucky and a Florida arrest after a hotel altercation. The pattern has drawn attention because his lottery win was only about a year ago.
