Ken Urker, Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Fiancé, Dead at 33
Urker was found unresponsive at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday, Oct. 1 — his 34th birthday. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies responded to the residence around 6:15 p.m. and found him dead when they arrived. An investigation into his death is ongoing.

Gypsy Rose Is “In Disbelief”
Blanchard has spoken publicly about the devastating loss, telling PEOPLE that she believes Urker died from an overdose.
She said an unidentified substance was found at the scene but that she does not know whether the overdose was intentional or accidental. Blanchard also said Urker had not been in a good state of mind recently.
“I’m in disbelief,” Blanchard told PEOPLE. “I can’t think.”
She described Urker as an “amazing father” and said he will “forever be my soulmate.”
Authorities Have Not Confirmed a Cause of Death
While Blanchard believes an overdose may have been involved, authorities have not confirmed the cause of Urker's death.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office said the death investigation remains active. Authorities also said there was no evidence of foul play so far, but investigators have not ruled it out.
An autopsy was scheduled for Oct. 2, with standard toxicology testing expected to be performed.
A Complicated Love Story
Urker and Blanchard first connected in 2017 while she was serving a prison sentence for her role in the killing of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
The pair became romantically involved and became engaged in 2018, but eventually ended their relationship. During their time apart, Blanchard married Ryan Anderson. She and Anderson later separated following her release from prison in December 2023.
Blanchard and Urker rekindled their relationship in April 2024.
Parents to Daughter Aurora
The couple welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.
Blanchard has emphasized Urker's role as a father, telling PEOPLE that he deeply loved their daughter and that she wants Aurora to grow up knowing who her father was beyond the public attention surrounding their relationship.
“Above all, Ken loved our daughter, Aurora,” Blanchard said.
A Family Mourns
Urker's sister, Autumn, also confirmed his death during a TikTok livestream, sharing that his last words to her were reportedly “I love you.”
Blanchard has also spoken about the intense public scrutiny Urker faced during their relationship, saying he experienced harassment and cyberbullying online.
As investigators work to determine exactly what happened, Blanchard is asking for privacy for those closest to Urker.
For now, his family and loved ones are mourning a man remembered by Blanchard as a devoted father and someone who remained deeply important in her life.
