Janai Norman has confirmed her exit from Good Morning America after nearly four years, saying her time on the show was “cut short”. She said she loved the job, appreciated her coworkers and viewers, and was disappointed she didn’t get the chance to say a proper goodbye.

Why she’s leaving

Reports say the departure followed a contract situation, with one source saying she had known since early March that she would not be renewed. Norman also said she’s looking forward to spending more time with her three young children, since she has worked weekends throughout their lives.

Her message

In her Instagram video, Norman thanked viewers for their support and said, “More to come when the time is right”. Colleagues including Robin Roberts and Deborah Roberts also shared supportive messages after the announcement.
