In Fairfield, California, a Ring camera captured the moment a man demanded to be let into a home before forcing his way inside, and authorities say he now faces four felony counts. The suspect has been identified as Jason Nichols, 30, and police say the confrontation turned violent after the homeowner rushed back and fought him off with a shovel.

What the video shows

The footage reportedly shows Nichols kicking at the front door, punching the Ring camera, and asking, “Where is your daughter?” before entering through a sliding glass door. Police say a woman and child were inside at the time, and the homeowner’s husband returned after seeing the live camera feed.

Charges and injuries
