‘Every parent’s worst nightmare’: Family friend reacts to students’ deaths in spring break crash

A family friend said the crash was “every parent’s worst nightmare” after three Georgia high school students were killed in a fiery spring break wreck in Florida. The students identified in reports are Charlotte Martin, 16, Jaylyn Fehr, 17, and Jackson Mobley, 18, while Mobley’s 17-year-old sister, Jamison, survived but remains critically injured.

What happened

Authorities say the Jeep carrying the teens left the roadway in Franklin County, crossed into the opposite lane, hit a tree line, and burst into flames. The students all attended Horizon Christian Academy in Cumming, Georgia, and the school has been supporting grieving families and classmates.

Community response

The family friend, Nicole, described the teens as kind, faithful, and beloved by everyone who knew them. She also said she set up a GoFundMe to help the families with memorial expenses.
