Central Florida couple confirms genetic parents of their baby involved in IVF mix-up identified

The Central Florida couple says testing has confirmed their baby’s genetic parents have been identified, but the couple is keeping that family’s identity confidential out of respect for their privacy. The case involves Tiffany Score and Steven Mills, who discovered their daughter was not genetically related to them after an IVF mix-up at the Fertility Center of Orlando.

What changed

Earlier in the case, the couple and their attorneys were still trying to find the child’s biological parents and trace what happened to their embryos. The new update says that part of the search is now complete, though the legal case and questions about the clinic’s error remain ongoing.

Why it matters

This is a major development because identifying the genetic parents can help both families understand what happened and may also clarify the path forward for the child’s biological and legal history. The case has drawn attention because it highlights the risks of embryo handling and labeling in fertility treatment.
