The singer did not appear in person at her arraignment in Ventura County Superior Court. Instead, her attorney, Michael Goldstein, entered a guilty plea to the reduced misdemeanor charge on her behalf.
What the plea deal includes
Under the terms of the agreement, Spears is required to:
Pay a $571 fine
Complete 12 months of probation
Enroll in a three-month alcohol or substance abuse education program
Meet with a psychiatrist twice per month
Comply with additional court-ordered conditions
A “wet reckless” charge is a reduced offense typically involving reckless driving with alcohol involvement, often used in DUI plea negotiations to avoid harsher penalties.
