New footage has shed more light on the viral beach confrontation involving Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell and a beachgoer near his Florida home. While early reports suggested Littrell used a homophobic slur, later uncensored video and his attorney’s comments say that claim is false.

In the clip, Littrell appears to be arguing with a man identified as Kyle Gallagher after approaching him on the beach outside his property. The exchange escalated quickly, with Littrell accusing the man of interfering with his phone and telling him not to challenge him.

According to later reporting, the strongest uncensored audio shows Littrell saying phrases like “What the f**k, dude?” and “Don’t challenge me,” rather than the slur that first circulated online. Littrell’s legal team has argued that the full video clears him of the more serious accusation.
