During the live video call, the astronauts also joked about everyday life aboard the spacecraft, including sleeping arrangements and a malfunctioning toilet, giving viewers a rare look at the realities of deep-space travel. Pilot Victor Glover also used the moment to send a bigger message, saying Earth looks like “one humanity” from their vantage point.

The mission marks the first crewed lunar flyby under NASA’s Artemis program and is designed to test systems for future deep-space travel. The crew — Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen — is expected to complete several more broadcasts as the flight continues.
